* Udupi: Bantakal Engineering students win prizes in National Level Event ‘IEEE- EUREKA 2021’

The students of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management Bantakal have won first, second and third prize in ‘IEEE-EUREKA 2021’, a national level event organized by the IEEE Pune section.

Stream 1: ‘Technologies for Environment, Climate Change and Natural disasters’ Team: Aniketh Shenoy, Anjali Shet, M Sowmitha Pai, Vikram G Thunga. (First Prize)

Stream 2: ‘Technologies for Rural Development and Woman Welfare’ Team: S Sinchana, Shreya Nayak, Vaishak Prabhu, Vivek Shenoy. (First Prize)

Stream 3: ‘Technologies for Agriculture and Food Processing’ Team: Shriraksha, Ramya Deshpande, Shreya M Thantry, Rahamathunnisa. (Second Prize)

** Mangalore University, Red Cross branch get awards

Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot presented the Best Performing University Award to the Youth Red Cross wing of Mangalore University in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

The Vice-Chancellor P.S. Yadapadithaya received the award conferred in recognition of youth development activities and support in strengthening Youth Red Cross activities at the university at all levels for 2019-20.

The award was presented at the Annual General Meeting of Karnataka unit of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) at the Raj Bhavan.

** Udupi man designs unique multi-featured 2WD E-scooter

Jayaprakash, an IT support engineer worked at NIC department of Manipal.

Driven by his ambition and to realize his dream, he resigned from his job.

At present, he is staying in a small cottage with his family. He drives an auto rickshaw during his free time. Now he has built a multi motor-powered unique E-scooter, which is suitable for all roads.

Niranjana, professor and chairman, Department of Studies in Journalism and Mass Communications, University of Mysore, has been appointed VC of Bengaluru North University, Kolar.
