** Stalls for GI products

Karnataka boasts of a total of 42 products that have been included in the Geographical Indication (GI) of goods list. This is out of 370 goods have been given GI tag in the country.

Separate stalls for GI goods would be set up at the Bengaluru and other airports in the State for their promotion, said Major and Medium Industries Minister Jagadish Shettar on Friday in the Assembly.

** Alumni install air filter tower in Hubballi

AA Mirji, Chairman of Hale Vidyarthigal Sangh said the air filter was made by the students of Jain College of Engineering and Technology for their college project.

The alumni of Sadguru Shri Siddharoodha High School with the technical support of Jain College of Engineering and Technology in the city come up with the air filter tower which is first of its kind in Hubballi-Dharwad twin cities.

Named Maya, the humanoid robot has been developed by students of Automation and Robotics of KLETU Prithiv Deshpande and Alwin M., along with research assistants Abhijit Sampthkrishna and Kartik Lakamanhalli under the guidance of Assistant Professors Ashwini G.K. and Sridhar Doddamani and Head of the Department Professor Arun Giriyapur.
