** Tulu Koota Kuwait to organize Tulu Lipi learning class

Tulu Koota Kuwait is organizing the inauguration of ‘Bale Tulu Kalpuga’ –a series of online Tulu Lipi Classes inauguration in association with Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, Mangaluru on July 30, at 10.30 AM Kuwait time (1.00PM IST), virtually on zoom platform.

Dayananda G Kattalsar, president, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy will inaugurate the program. Dr Thukarama Poojary, founder, Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Center will preside over the function as chief guest.

** Doha: Tulukoota Qatar Badminton champs truimph at Season 3 tournament

Tulukoota Qatar on July 9 organised the finals of the third season of an inter-organisation badminton tournament at Cambridge School.

The two-day event had eight Karnataka-based organisations namely KSQ, KMCA, KMCA, SKMWA, MCC, Bunts Qatar, MCA, Qatar Billawas and host Tulukoota Qatar.

A total of 105 players across the organisations participated and played the tournament in true sportsmanship and spirit. The tournament had categories ranging from young kids to senior adults above 60 who played with utmost enthusiasm.

** Jubail General Hospital honours KCF blood donor group

Karnataka Cultural Foundation (KCF), an expatriate platform of Kannadigas (people from the south Indian state of Karnataka) has been active in carrying out various humanitarian and relief services for expatriates especially during health emergencies, death etc. This time, KCF volunteers in Jubail turned over a new leaf by donating blood in a big way during a crucial need.

The blood donor team of Karnataka Cultural Foundation is very active in Dammam and various provinces of Saudi Arabia by organising and lending a helping hand to hospitals whenever there is an urgent blood requirement. The young donors’ team has considered it one of the greatest humanitarian services and gifts a human being can offer to another human being.

** Ajman: Thumbay Hospital crosses 4 million patient visits from 175 nationalities

Thumbay Hospital, the first academic hospital established by Thumbay Group under its healthcare division, celebrated with joy of crossing treatment of 4 million patient visits from 175 nationalities, Dr Thumbay Moideen, founder president said, “It was a great achievement by our team of healthcare professionals who have put all their efforts to serve the community. ** Karnataka’s first oxygen converter plant to come up in Virajpet Government Hospital

Kodagu has become the first district in Karnataka to be sanctioned an oxygen converter plant. The plant is currently being installed at Virajpet Government Hospital.  An oxygen converter generates oxygen from natural air.

** United States Surgeon General Dr Vivek Murthy donates 1.4 crore worth equipment

United States surgeon general Dr Vivek Murthy has donated Covid related medical equipment to small hospitals in Mandya and Kodagu districts.

Murthy a native of Hallegere in Mandya district contributing through his Scope Foundation.

** 22 oxygen concentrators for Dharwad

Like-minded people from India and Australia who have formed a team called “Medical Oxygen for All” have donated 22 oxygen concentrators to Dharwad. On Thursday, Superintendent of Police of Dharwad P. Krishnakant handed them over to the Health Department in the district.

Mr. Krishnakant, who is part of “Medical Oxygen for All”, symbolically handed over a few oxygen concentrators to District Health Officer Yashwanth Madinkar at his office on Thursday.

More than 40 doctors of Mysuru origin settled in the United Kingdom have joined the telemedicine initiative launched by the Mysuru district administration for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in home isolation.
