** Andaru Deviprasad Shetty elected president of Udupi CCI

Andaru Deviprasad Shetty was unanimously elected as the president of Udupi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

Deviprasad was elected as president and the new office bearers to the chamber were also elected during the meeting, held on Saturday November 20.

Subhas Kamath, Ln Jayakar Shetty Indrali, Muralidhar Baliga, Ln V G Shetty, Chitharanjan Bhat, Walter Saldanha, Shubhashit Kumar and Chandrakanth were elected the directors of Udupi CCI.

Under the guidance of Chetan R, senior assistant professor, the final year, Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM) ECE students Namana, Pranav, Adithya and Gowri have built the wearable smart and cost effective device which assists in sitting and standing using the Lead Screw mechanism, this is achieved by receiving input from the user through an Android app, which has been developed.

Ranked 28 out of 48 ULBs with more than 10 lakh population

Bengaluru has been adjudged as the ‘Fastest Mover’ mega city in Swachh Survekshan 2021 while being ranked 28 among the 48 cities with a population more than 10 lakh.

Swachh Survekshan 2021 results were announced by the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry on November 20.
