** 624 students graduate from IIMB

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, which held its 46th convocation ceremony virtually on Friday, celebrated the graduation of 624 students, a majority of whom, 435, had completed the Post Graduate Programme in Management. Twenty-two students were awarded the doctoral degrees, while 72 were from the executive postgraduate programme.

** Karnataka’s Former Chief Secretary JC Lynn Passes Away

Lynn served as Chief Secretary from 1992 to 1994. In a career spanning 34 years, he held several important positions in the state and Central governments. He served as Secretary to three Chief Ministers, Veerendra Patil, D Devaraj Urs and (briefly) R Gundu Rao for ten years.

He also held the posts of Home and Industries Secretaries to the government of Karnataka, before being appointed Chairman of the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and simultaneously Chairman of KSTDC.

Subsequently, he was posted to Delhi, where he served in the Departments of Coal and Personnel before being appointed Chairman of the Food Corporation of India in the rank of Secretary to the Government of India.

** Vivek Gowda’s photographs on display

Mangaluru Chapter of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) has organised an exhibition of photographs by Vivek Gowda from April 17 to 21 at Kodial Guthu Centre for Art and Culture, G.G. Road, Ballal Bagh in the city.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday, April 17 at 5 p.m. in the presence of eminent photographer Guruduth Kamath Udupi, Bharatanatyam artist Vani Rajagopal Chennai and poet, lyricist and editor of Arso Konkani monthly Wilson Kateel. The exhibition remains open to the public on all days till April 21 between 11 am and 7 pm. Admission is free.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has set up a helpline – 1912 – to receive complaints and grievances related to COVID-19.

The helpline aims to help citizens with bed allocation and hospital related issues, apart from giving general information related to COVID-19.
