** Udupi district bags first prize in state level poetry competition

Akhila Bharathiya Sahitya Parishad had held poetry competitions in three stages in the state with the theme ‘Ayodyeyalli Ramamandira Hridayadalli Ramachandira’ (Ramamandira at Ayodhya and full moon in the heart).

57 poems which were selected on district and divisional level which reached the final stage and were selected for state level.

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Tuesday felicitated heroes of 1971 war fought in erstwhile East Pakistan and now Bangladesh.

Among those felicitated were Rear Admiral S K Gupta, T B M Noronha, widow of late Commodore J P A Noronha, Major General K P Nanjappa, Brigadier P V Sahadevan, Rear Admiral R R Sood, Commander K S Panwar, and Wing Commander A Raghunath.

Helming the restoration is David Belo, who delights in tilting at windmills. Ten years ago David arrived in Mysuru on another Quixotic mission: to create a wholly Indian, artisan chocolate from bean to bar. His artisan brand Earthloaf — renamed Naviluna — exceeded expectations when it was launched in 2012.

The Ambaari double-decker bus is an open-roof customised bus inspired by the London’s Big Bus model. The double-decker bus is based on the Eicher bus chassis. It stands 15 feet tall. It has a capacity of 40 seats, divided equally between the upper and lower decks. The lower deck has air conditioning facility.
