** Gulf Medical University Hosts first-ever ‘White Coat Fashion Show’ by healthcare heroes

Gulf Medical University along with DCOM designs, Root Square, and the Paint Brush Art Community, Dubai organized the first-ever fashion show in the region by Healthcare heroes. The event, called Walking Art, is a tribute by the artistic community of the United Arab Emirates towards our frontline heroes.

The program was attended by Prof Hossam Hamdy, chancellor of Gulf Medical University- the chief guest of the function, along with Dr Bu Abdullah, chairman of BU Abdullah group and Uttam Chand, consul of Visa and community affairs, consulate of India, who were the guests of honor.

The fashion show was started with an opening act by Gulf Medical University Alumni led by Dr Ramita, and comprising of participants Dr Afrah, Dr Kajal and Dr Sandra.

Tulu Koota Kuwait is organizing the inauguration of ‘Bale Tulu Kalpuga’ –a series of online Tulu Lipi Classes inauguration in association with Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, Mangaluru on July 30, at 10.30 AM Kuwait time (1.00PM IST), virtually on zoom platform.

Dayananda G Kattalsar, president, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy will inaugurate the program. Dr Thukarama Poojary, founder, Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Center will preside over the function as chief guest.

The speciality is that Kodi Krishna Ganiga, who is called as Kodi Kushta Ganiga, though not known to the Yakshagana lovers of the present time, had created waves in the 1970s and 80s. The name earned by him still lives in the memories of Yakshagana lovers of yesteryear.

** All-India Doctors’ Virtual Choir: Medicos sing songs of hope in times of distress

Over 50 doctors and medical students across the country gathered for the first All-India Doctors’ Virtual Choir, singing covers of songs that reflect the doctor’s mission.

‘Alterdoctor’ — a platform of doctors to express their hobbies such as writing, photography, art, and music — recently released a video featuring medical professionals across the country in a virtual choir to celebrate the pride and honour of being in the medical profession.

** Docs pedal to Mangaluru, to raise awareness on violence against doctors

They undertook the ‘Bridge the Gap’ cyclothon to build a stronger relationship between the public and healthcare community.

Dr Justin A Gopaldas, consultant, critical care medicine, and Dr Nikhil Narayanaswamy, intensivist at Manipal Hospitals, Jayanagar, started the cyclothon at 7.30am and invited fellow healthcare workers to join them in their journey to #savethesaviours, and reach Mangaluru by July 28.
