** Riyadh: Indian Social Forum Karnataka state committee elects new leadership

Indian Social Forum Riyadh, Karnataka state committee held its committee election for term 2021-2024 on October 1 here.

The committee elected Abdul Majid Punjalkatte as president, Sirajuddin Sajipa as general secretary, Umar Farooq Somawarpete as vice president, Jawad Basrur and Asghar Aboobakar Chakmaki as secretaries. Nizam Bajpe, Mihaf Sulthan, Nazeer Handel and Faisal Ammembala were elected as state committee members.

** Srinivas University’s Charles K C creates world record in largest patriotic portrait by screw art

Charles K C, an undergraduate student pursuing BBA Port, Shipping Management & Logistics at Srinivas University Pandeshwar, has created a world record as largest patriotic portrait by screw art.

Charles, a creative artist, set the new record on June 17, 2021.

He made a portrait of Swami Vivekananda measuring 4 ft × 3 ft size on wooden cardboard using 2,768 half-inche iron screws and acrylic paints.

Karnataka Sangha Qatar, a frontline community group celebrated ‘Engineers Day-2021’, to commemorate the birthday of the iconic Engineer of India, Bharat Ratna, Sir M Vishweshwaraiah at Mumbai Hall-ICC on Wednesday, September 15 following all covid- protocols.

ICC president PN Babu Rajan was the chief guest of the evening. The program began with the lighting of the lamp by the KSQ Management committee members along with guests. KSQ president Nagesh Rao delivered the keynote and Suchitra Sridhara briefed the life story of legendary Engineer Sir M Vishweshwaraiah.
