** Ajman: Thumbay Hospital crosses 4 million patient visits from 175 nationalities

Thumbay Hospital, the first academic hospital established by Thumbay Group under its healthcare division, celebrated with joy of crossing treatment of 4 million patient visits from 175 nationalities, Dr Thumbay Moideen, founder president said, “It was a great achievement by our team of healthcare professionals who have put all their efforts to serve the community. Frizzell D’Souza straddles the worlds of architecture and music. She has been studying the former for the last four years and practising the latter since she was in third grade. She finds a similarity between the two. “It is the process,” she says, “When we work on a design in architecture, we start with a concept. We do a lot of redos and keep going back and forth with it until we get it right. That is a parallel I find in music.”

** Karnataka’s first oxygen converter plant to come up in Virajpet Government Hospital

Kodagu has become the first district in Karnataka to be sanctioned an oxygen converter plant. The plant is currently being installed at Virajpet Government Hospital.  An oxygen converter generates oxygen from natural air.

** Add Engg signs MoU with UAE firm

Add Engineering Gmbh, the parent company of ADD Engineering (India) Private Limited,  has signed an MoU with the UAE-based defence sector EDGE Group PUSC to share crucial technology to enhance production and improve efficiency of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) in the defence aviation sector.

The agreement, which will be in effect for two years, was signed by Norbert Kreller, Verner Greksa, Alexander Locktev and Girish Linganna for ADD Engg, while Mohammed Al Rasheed and others signed it on behalf of EDGE.EDGE is a private firm based in Abu Dhabi, and operates in investment services, aerospace and defence sector.

** International award for C.N.R. Rao

Bharat Ratna Professor C.N.R. Rao has been selected for the International Eni Award 2020 for research in energy frontiers. This is considered to be the Nobel Prize in energy research.

Professor Rao has been working on hydrogen energy as the only source of energy for the benefit of all mankind. Storage, photochemical and electrochemical production of hydrogen, solar production of hydrogen and non-metallic catalysis were the highlights of the work.

** CHD Group donates 45 oxygen concentrators to BBMP

CHD Group, India country office headquartered at Mangaluru, worked with logistics partner Les Concierges, Bengaluru, and donated 45 oxygen concentrators to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

BBMP Commissioner Gaurav Gupta, received oxygen concentrators and appreciated the philanthropic work of CHD Group in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

CHD Group also donated five oxygen concentrators to St Johns Medical College Hospital in Bengaluru, to support extended rural outreach, said a press release.

** United States Surgeon General Dr Vivek Murthy donates 1.4 crore worth equipment

United States surgeon general Dr Vivek Murthy has donated Covid related medical equipment to small hospitals in Mandya and Kodagu districts.

Murthy a native of Hallegere in Mandya district contributing through his Scope Foundation.
