ITC Infotech came up with the product after a survey with clients and employees across geographies

Technology services firm ITC Infotech and Harvard Business School (HBS) have jointly developed a Work from Anywhere (I – WFA) productivity framework, which was unveiled on November 11.

I – WFA enables digital, distributed, flexible, outcome driven and secure future work scenario for clients and employees. It powers a distributed workplace and decentralised workforce.

From HBS, Lumry Family Associate Professor Prithwiraj Choudhury collaborated with the Indian tech company to build the data backed and succinct framework.

** Mysuru Shooting Academy Shines At Bengaluru Championship

Mysuru Sports Shooting Academy has bagged more than 50 medals in ‘Roriez Sports Shooting Championship’ and ‘Arjun & Golden Ace Sports Shooting Championship’ held at Bengaluru recently, said MSSA President Ravindraswamy at a press meet held at Patrakarthara Bhavan in city recently.

In all, 21 shooters from the Academy had taken part in different categories and the medal winners are as follows:

** Medal-Winners Of State & Natl. Kickboxing Championship

The students of IKA Karate Academy, Mysuru, have excelled at the 1st State-level Kickboxing Championship organised by Karnataka Kickboxing Sports Association at Yoga Hall, University of Mysore (UoM), recently and have been selected to take part in the national-level event to held in Pune.

** City MMA Fighters Excel In Club Championship

The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters of the Academy of Martial Science (AMS) participated in the MMA Club Championship held at Bengaluru recently and have won 10 medals (3 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze).

MMA athletes from various districts of the State participated in the event that was hosted by AMMAK sanctioned by MMA India which is the sole governing body for the combat sport of MMA in India. This event also served as selection trials for the upcoming Bengaluru Open MMA Championships to be held in December where athletes from over 25 States are expected to participate.

** Basavashree award for sarod maestro

Renowned sarod maestro Pandit Rajeev Taranath will receive the prestigious Basavashree award conferred on him by the Basava Kendra of Sri Jagadguru Murugharajendra Bruhanmutt, Chitradurga, in Mysuru on Wednesday.

The award conferred on the 89-year-old eminent musician is for the year 2019.

** Bengaluru chosen for NAMA Support project

It is supported by the European Union

Bengaluru is one of five cities selected for a waste management project supported by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry of the Environment and Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.

The Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) Support project ‘Waste Solutions for a Circular Economy in India’ will help Bengaluru transition to Municipal solid waste low-carbon management technologies.

** 222 uterine fibroids removed from 34-year-old patient

‘This was done while preserving the uterus’

Doctors at Sakra World Hospital removed 222 fibroids from the uterus of a 34-year-old woman. This was done while preserving the patient’s uterus completely, stated the hospital in a press release. Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths made up of muscle and fibrous tissue and can vary in size and shape.

In a press release, Shanthala Thuppanna, senior consultant and head-Obstetrics & Gynaecology, said the patient’s fibroids were spread throughout the left side of her uterus, and very near to important structures in the abdomen which made her surgery complicated.

** Karnataka among top five most visited States: Survey

The online survey had a total sample size of 1,448 adults and fieldwork was undertaken between September 21 and 27, 2021
