India Foundation for the Arts is inviting proposals for its Project 560 that explores memories, experiences, and imaginations
You might have a story from your neighbourhood. A story that has not been published in books, or carried in newspapers, or seen on screens. Yet, you think the story is fascinating and would like the world to know it.
India Foundation for the Arts, a not-for-profit organisation, is inviting you to do it as a part of Project 560. Taking its name from the first three digits of Bengaluru’s pincode, Project 560 encourages artists, scholars, institutions and neighbourhoods to engage with the city.
** Igus to set up injection moulding facility in Bengaluru

Igus, a German company that is into motion plastics, will set up a 10,000 sq. ft. injection moulding facility in Bengaluru, as an expansion of its existing product customisation unit at Mahadevapura.
Deepak Paul, Managing Director, Igus India, said, “India is one of the key markets in the world for Igus, occupying one among the top 10 positions, globally. An injection moulding facility in India has been a long-standing requirement of our customers in the country.”

Dr Deepak Rudrappa’s mini-Lalbagh houses over 16 varieties of flowers, 20 Ayurvedic trees, 18 types of fruits and three types of honey.
It was in 2017 when Dr Deepak Rudrappa, consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Manipal Hospital, Yeshwanthpur, had to decide between buying a luxurious car and a farmland.
Thanks to Dr Jaisheela, his wife and an ENT surgeon, he chose the latter, which has now become a lifeline to Rudrappa’s family. Most of the vegetables and fruits grown at the farm make it to his family’s dining table.

A tech startup focused on non-real estate-based assisted living services for the elderly has announced the launch of its services in Mysuru and Bengaluru.
Alserv has expanded its services at Kochi, Trivandrum, and Coimbatore after Chennai with India witnessing a critical need for home-based elder care services now, the startup said.
Jagadish Ramamoorthy, co-founder and director, Alserv, said: “Mysuru and Bengaluru are upcoming locations for senior living, with more than 350 homes being built in retirement communities around these two cities

Joseph Periera became the first solo cyclist from Mangaluru to conquer the Deccan Cliffhanger Ultra Cycling Race, covering 643 km in 33 hours and 45 minutes on Sunday.
By completing the Deccan Cliffhanger race, Mr. Periera not only became the first Mangalurean to complete the solo race but also qualified for the Race Across America (RAAM) too.
** Udupi: Muddu Theerthahalli selected for Late Joseph, Mary Pinto Niddodi memorial literary award
Vithasha Riya Rodrigues (Muddu Theerthahalli) has been selected for the Late Jospeh, Mary Pinto Niddodi memorial literary award.
The award is conferred in association with Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh to encourage the youth writers in Konkani language.
** 3-day Indo-French Knowledge Summit from Nov. 24
The French Institute in India, a part of the Embassy of France in India, is organizing the third edition of the Knowledge Summit (KS3), an online event from November 24 to 26. It is co-hosted by Savitribai Phule Pune University in partnership with France’s Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), and the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA).
** KIA commissions Rosenbauer Firefighting Simulator, first in South Asia
It helps firefighters train in a realistic environment
Kempegowda International Airport, on Monday, commissioned the Rosenbauer Firefighting Simulator, which provides firefighters the opportunity to train in a realistic environment and master the tactical use of Crash Fire Tenders (CFTs) in a risk-free environment. In a press release, Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) said KIA is the first airport in South Asia to commission the Rosenbauer Firefighting Simulator.
