** Mangaluru: CCB inspector Mahesh Prasad bags central government award

City crime branch inspector (CCB) here, Mahesh Prasad, has bagged the award being given by the union home ministry for exemplary operations. This award is given for operations
launched against terrorists.

Mahesh Prasad is a native of Cherkady in Udupi district. He is a past student of Mahaveer College, Moodbidri. He has served as inspector in Karwar, Puttur, Manipal and Kaup police stations.

** Udupi: From mountain to ocean – Adventurous journey of five young girls from Karnataka

Five young girls of Karnataka, who are participating in the historical journey of ‘Mountain to Ocean’ as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebration of India’s independence, reached Karwar after scaling Antamhoi mountain peak (5245 meters) and cycling for 3000 km all the way from Ladakh.

Now the girls are kayaking 300 km in the sea from Karwar in the coastal area of the state. They reached Malpe sea beach on Friday, October 29.

Aishwarya V and Dhanalaxmi, residents of Shivamogga, Asha, resident of Bengaluru, Pushpa, resident of Madikeri and Bindu from Mysuru are in the team of girls in this adventurous journey.

** Names of 93 Rajyotsava awardees announced in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi

: Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi districts on Saturday October 30 announced their respective lists of winners of this year’s district Rajyotsava awardees.

The awards will be presented on Monday November 1 during the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in the twin districts.

The categories include sports, art, medicine, folklore, theater, music (instruments), deity service, media, yoga, social service, and literature.

DK district administration announced the list of 58 achievers and organisations selected for the award.

** City Cyclists Shine In State-Level

Mysuru city cyclists excelled in the 16th State-level MTB Cycling Championship 2021 held at Bagalkot in September by securing 6 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal and all the four cyclists are representing Karnataka State in the 18th National-level MTB Cycling Championship 2021 which is underway at Pune in Maharashtra.
