** Mysuru Bags Five-Star Ranking In ‘Garbage-Free Cities’

Mysuru city that was hoping for a place in the top three cleanest cities has, however, been awarded five-star ranking in ‘garbage-free cities’ category.

Urban Development Minister Byrathi Basavaraj, Mysuru Mayor Sunanda Palanetra, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy and Senior Health Officer Dr. D.G. Nagaraj received the award from Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs

** Bengaluru adjudged best ‘Fastest Mover’ mega city in Swachh Survekshan 2021 rankings

Ranked 28 out of 48 ULBs with more than 10 lakh population

Bengaluru has been adjudged as the ‘Fastest Mover’ mega city in Swachh Survekshan 2021 while being ranked 28 among the 48 cities with a population more than 10 lakh.

Swachh Survekshan 2021 results were announced by the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry on November 20.

  • Napanda Poonacha of Kodagu district, a progressive farmer, who hopes to be recognized as a pro-nature farmer

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and eight other municipal corporations in Karnataka have won various awards instituted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for keeping their respective cities clean.

** Bengaluru Tech Summit 2021: Infosys bags ‘IT Ratna of Karnataka’ award

IT major Infosys has bagged the ‘IT Ratna of Karnataka’ award for the company’s outstanding performance in IT exports in the above Rs 10,000 crore category. Apart from this award, 20 other companies, including Wipro, Mindtree and TCS, were awarded ‘IT Pride of Karnataka’ award given by STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) and the Karnataka State Government, as part of the Bengaluru Tech Summit that began  in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Chimera Technologies Co-founder and CEO Padma Duraiswamy bagged the ‘Woman Entrepreneur of the Year-IT’ award  and the ‘High Growth in Exports- IT/ITES’ award (exports greater than Rs 1000 crore and up to Rs 2000 crore) was bagged by Standard Chartered Global Business Services.
