** Veep felicitates PES varsity prof who guided students to develop satellites

Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu felicitated Dr Sambasiva Rao, a professor at PES University, for the launch of a micro-satellite earlier this year.

 Dr Sambasiva Rao had mentored a team of students, who successfully launched two micro-satellites, the latest of which went up this February.

The satellite was conceptualised and developed by students and was launched with the support of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). “That PES University is the second university in the country after IIT Bombay to achieve this spectacular feat speaks of their prowess in cutting-edge technology,” said Naidu.

Technology services firm ITC Infotech and Harvard Business School (HBS) have jointly developed a Work from Anywhere (I – WFA) productivity framework, which was unveiled on November 11.

I – WFA enables digital, distributed, flexible, outcome driven and secure future work scenario for clients and employees. It powers a distributed workplace and decentralised workforce.

Three-year fee for the course will be Rs 20 lakh per student and include tuition fees, boarding and lodging, local travel and medical insurance.

The department has chosen two courses, Tourism & Hospitality and Cyber Security, which will be offered in partnership with Montgomery County Community College, Pennsylvania.
