** HAL delivers 200th Gun Bay Door for Boeing Super Hornet

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Friday delivered the 200th gun bay door for Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet. HAL has been supplying the aero-structure to Boeing for the last 10 years. 

“Our partnership with HAL is an example of our commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat and to the growth of India’s aerospace and defence ecosystem. We see tremendous potential for India to contribute to the global aerospace industry as an industrial and technology partner. ** That 80s show: Renovated Bal Bhavan to refresh memories

Society Chairperson Chikkamma Basavaraju told The New Indian Express that in the new plan, the landscape and basic structure will not change, only the models will.

Not just children, even adults who grew up in Bengaluru in the 1980s will soon have an opportunity to relive their childhood at the restored Bal Bhavan in the city’s prime lung space, Cubbon Park. The Bal Bhavan Society and Smart City Mission team are working on recreating Bal Bhavan as it was in the 1980s, with a summer camp area, puppet show area, a toy train, boating, pond with aqua life and even a horse riding ring. However, all this will be ready only in June 2022.

To replicate details of the Bal Bhavan of yore, architects, engineers and Society members are studying photographs of those years, and getting information from members, heritage associations and even from Bengalureans who spent their childhood here.

** Bengaluru startup among the winners of IAF drone contest

Bengaluru-based start-up Newspace Research and Technologies Private Limited was among the three firms that won the “Mehar Baba Swarm Drone Competition” conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF).

IAF Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari on Sunday, October 24, 2021, presented awards to Newspace Research and Technologies Private Limited (Best Swarm Architecture), Team Delhi Technological University-Flair Unmanned Systems Private Limited (Best Communication Architecture) and Dhaksha Unmanned Systems Private Limited from Anna University, Chennai (Best Drone Architecture), at IAF station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

A total of 154 teams had registered for the competition conducted in line with the central government’s “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” initiative.

** A saga of more than 100 years

The railway line between Chitradurga and Chikjajur has a history of over 100 years and the works was sanctioned by the Government of India on January 28,1914 though the actual construction work commenced in October 1917.

It connected Chikjajur, which was then a station on the Bangalore-Harihar main line and was managed by the Madras & Southern Mahratta Railways Company. It was opened for public transportation on May 6,1921.

** AASSC ties up with Bengaluru-based company to launch drone learning course

ndian youth will soon be skilled to capitalise on developments in the drone industry. The Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) apex body set-up under the Government-led initiative of “Skill India” to train the Indian workforce has signed an MoU with a Bengaluru-based Drone Learning and Research Company. 

“With Drones being one of the fastest growing industries in India , AASSC and we have jointly developed a Drone professional certificate course for our youth to get them ready for future jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities,” said  Capt Gaurav Nath, Founder & CEO, ClearSkies Aviation OPC Pvt Ltd, a Drone Learning & Research Company founded by Industry leaders and academician focused on Unmanned Aviation sector.

** Oxygen plant that can generate 7.2 lakh litres per day launched at Bengaluru Railway Hospital

 In a major step towards self-sufficiency by the Bengaluru Railway Division, an oxygen plant that can generate up to 7.2 lakh litres of medical oxygen per day was launched on Thursday inside the premises of the Divisional Railway Hospital. It may be recalled that due to huge numbers of railway employees getting affected during the peak of the COVID outbreak, the 50-bed hospital had an acute shortage of medical oxygen and struggled to meet its daily requirement.

** Vintage car, cycle rally held in Mangaluru

The vintage car, scooter, cycle rally and walkathon were flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V and Mayor Premananda Shetty. The rally which commenced at AB Shetty Circle passed through Clock Tower, Hampankatta signal, Ambedkar Circle, Bunts Hostel, PVS, M G Road, Ballalbagh, Lalbagh, Ladyhill and culminated at Mangala Stadium in Mangaluru.

** India’s first security-boosting wall from Belgium debuts at Bengaluru’s KSR railway station

A state-of-the-art video wall imported from Belgium has recently been installed inside the premises of Cyber Cell of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and offers an enhanced layer of security at Bengaluru’s Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) railway station.

This is the first such installation in the country.
