** Mysuru Shooting Academy Shines At Bengaluru Championship

Mysuru Sports Shooting Academy has bagged more than 50 medals in ‘Roriez Sports Shooting Championship’ and ‘Arjun & Golden Ace Sports Shooting Championship’ held at Bengaluru recently, said MSSA President Ravindraswamy at a press meet held at Patrakarthara Bhavan in city recently.

In all, 21 shooters from the Academy had taken part in different categories and the medal winners are as follows:

Atheeq Ahmed – 5 gold and 1 silver in Open Sight Veteran Category; Krishna Rajendra – 6 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze in Open Sight and Peep Sight Veteran Category; Baban Khan (Najeebulla) – 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze in Open Sight Veteran Category; Vaseem – 1 bronze in Peep Sight Veteran Team; Syed Ishraq – 1 gold in Open Sight Para Event; A. Rahul – 1 silver in Open Sight Men Team; Syed Razzaq – 2 silver medals in Junior and Youth Team; Kishore – 1 silver in Open Sight Men Team; Rithik – 1 gold and 1 bronze in Open Sight Junior Men Category; Rajesh – 1 gold in Junior Men Team and 1 silver in Junior Individual; Sagar Mandanna – 2 gold medals in Individual and Team in Open Sight Youth Men; Likith – 1 gold in Junior Open Sight Team; P.R. Shashank – 2 gold medals – Individual and Team in Junior Category; Nihal Manoj – 1 gold and 1 bronze in Open Sight Youth Category; A. ** Medal-Winners Of State & Natl. Kickboxing Championship

The students of IKA Karate Academy, Mysuru, have excelled at the 1st State-level Kickboxing Championship organised by Karnataka Kickboxing Sports Association at Yoga Hall, University of Mysore (UoM), recently and have been selected to take part in the national-level event to held in Pune.

** City MMA Fighters Excel In Club Championship

The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters of the Academy of Martial Science (AMS) participated in the MMA Club Championship held at Bengaluru recently and have won 10 medals (3 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze).

MMA athletes from various districts of the State participated in the event that was hosted by AMMAK sanctioned by MMA India which is the sole governing body for the combat sport of MMA in India. This event also served as selection trials for the upcoming Bengaluru Open MMA Championships to be held in December where athletes from over 25 States are expected to participate.

** Two Golds & A Silver For Mysuru In State Veteran Table Tennis

In the Fourth State Ranking Veteran Table Tennis (TT) Tournament of the new season, sponsored by D.P. Gopinath from Bengaluru and conducted by Karnataka Veteran Table Tennis Committee (KVTTC) at Malleswaram Club, Bengaluru, on Oct. 30, Mysuru won two golds and a silver.

K.V. Krishnamurthy, fondly known as KVK among TT Veterans, grabbed gold in 80+ Men’s Singles beating Gopalan and Sathyanarayana in the League.

** ‘Alpine girl’ from Bengaluru treks to 50 high-altitude lakes in Kashmir

Probably the first female to trek to these high-altitude lakes, Namratha Nandish, who stays in the Bengaluru’s Bellandur area, started with Tulian Lake, which is sandwiched between the Pir Panjal and the Zanskar mountain ranges in South Kashmir.

** Emerges Champion At KSLTA-AITA TS 7 U-14

Arzan Khorakiwala, a product of the Raghuveer Tennis Academy, Mysuru, emerged Champion in the KSLTA-AITA Talent Series 7 Under-14 Tournament, an event on the Tattvam Junior Tour, here recently. In the finals played at the KSLTA Tennis Stadium, Arzan quelled the challenge of Gurleen Kaur Khanuja in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

** NIT-K convocation on November 6, to offer new course in AI

“The institute is proud to announce the conferment of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) degree for the first time to its highly distinguished alumnus, now the District Magistrate of Gautham Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, and a silver medalist at the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics, Suhas L. Yathiraj, during this convocation in recognition of his achievements in sports and other multifaceted accomplishments,” he said.

New B. Tech. program

A new B.Tech program in Artificial Intelligence will commence from the academic year 2021-22 to keep pace with growing national and international demands.

NIT-K has introduced admissions to M.Tech, M.Sc., MBA and MCA and to post-doctoral programme through self-financed mode from 2021-22, he said.

She is trained by Ekalvya Awardee K. Srikantha Rao of Rao’s Roller Skating Academy, Mysuru.
